Last likely trick in my bag would be to get rid of QEMM and the Network
Developer (whatever that is) too; may not accomplish much at this point, but
settin' up a floppy or alternate config/autoexec files doesn't take too long.
If you are running on a net, you may need to get it gone temporarily or try the
/S switch on mscdex. From there, I'd pull all absolutely unnecessary boards
out of your system and try again. It sounds extreme, but it takes about 5
minutes and can eliminate a squirrel or two. Then I'd run a good diagnostic on
the system (easy commercial programs like Norton v7.0, prior versions don't
have the diagnostics, are available or borrowable), maybe before and after
pulling boards; and, yes, I'd run a virus scan. Several shareware anti-virus
programs are available on CI$ or from almost any BBS; MacAfee's virus program
is well-regarded. Best of luck!!
