I've heard so many horror stories about CIAs that I always follow the
golden rule. Switch on peripherals FIRST, CPU LAST. The inverse order to
follow when switching off.
I had this very same nightmare one year ago. I've been using a borrowed
modem for a year, and I never attempted to make it work with more things
than AP, in order to avoid headaches that would be repeated with the new
modem. I knew it!!. That's the reason why I ordered a Mac modem with Mac
s/w. GPFax v 2.341 is pretty crappy, so Iwill not waste one minute more on
it and will upgrade to v2.346.
