Another thought would be the overscan setting. You have all the software that
comes with WB 3 I take it. Also is the A1200 setup on WB 3 software and not any
earlier WB. Failing that I could maybe pass you a little program that could
alter the screen offsets for you, but you would have to reset it everytime you
switched on. If it was a hardware problem this may help a little in finding
out, as you wouldn't be able to offset the screen back to where it was I
imagine.
As to the flicker, that hardware for sure.
