Dave, thanks for the insight, but … The Mac is yet to be purchased, she now has an LCII, but we will need to upgrade it, because … Our idea for a "welcome board" is a little more involved than just showing a desktop. We now have a DOS based system that does limited video (no motion) and shows the guest's names that are to arrive at our locations on any given day — a "welcome" to them is also displayed. We wanted to move this application over to our receptionist's Mac and integrate the daily "video" creation into her morning routine without having her go to another machine, and DOS based at that, to get it done. This brings about the need to run the welcome messages throughout the day in the background while the receptionist does other duties on the Mac.
