Let me preface this by saying I'm not the thread police. I did not
molest your message. I do not make policy in this forum, nor are my
comments an articulation of it. My comments are my own, so you are
free to disagree with anything I say here.
As a general rule, the forum management does not remove messages from
the forum. They are moved to a private section, where the recipient
can still read them, but other forum members cannot. When they do
so, they most often tell the affected party the reason for the move.
(I have not seen any messages of yours that were offensive enough to
move.)
There is another way a message can get removed from the board. Anyone
can erase a message from or to them. The person with whom you were
corresponding could have done this.
I do not have the definitive list of forum guidelines for ASOFT.
(There *are* guidelines concerning advertising in the file
ADGUID.TXT.) If you check your CompuServe service agreement, you'll
find a set of basic guidelines. You'll also find a clause which lets
the service provider (Autodesk) modify these guidelines. In the
absence of explicit modification, you can safely assume the
CompuServe guidelines apply. (There are two very common guidelines
which are enforced here — no profanity, and no personal attacks. If
a person is even moderately intelligent, they can get their point
across without resorting to these.)
Hope you find out what happened.
