Thanks, it worked as advertised.
The Wangtek was slow as heck and some times the SCSI bus hung up. The fix
was to arrange the SCSI bus priorities so that the fastest devices started
at address 0 and the tape had address 6. I also had to low-level format
and repartition one drive which I suspect was causing the Bus hang-ups. I
still get that message about "mode failure drive may not operate
correctly" (or what ever) but it doesn't seem to hurt anything. I can now
do saves and restores at about 5mb per min.
