Hi Bill, More than 24 satellites? Interesting. I read several articles from various magazines, a booklet from Trimble, had lots of discussions with various users, etc. and always came up with 24 as the "real" number. I wonder what gives. Out of curiousity, if there are 24 (or more) satellites and they are positioned so that the system works over the entire globe, how can they all be visible at various times from anyone place? If they are not in asynchronous orbit then what are they in? Doesn't it seem like a person who spends several thousand dollars on a decoding system to do surveying or navigation would want the information immediately, not a coule weeks later? Trimble advertises the Scout as being great for the photographer, movie maker, etc. Some people know where to find specialty markets! Anyway, having just (today) having returned from 5 days in the field with mine, I like it even more, but would like it a whole lot better if the location was known to be correct within 30 feet instead of 300 (or more). Such as, I was standning on the road at a garnet locality on the Salmon River (centeral Idaho) writing down a reading when suddenly both the lat and lon started clicking down and were soon both about .2 sec less than the "stable" reading I was recording. That is a change of better than 400 and 600 feet in a few seconds! Lanny
