>> I think I might learn to resent that! (not) <<
Andy, I worded that very carefully. <g>
I said _most_ of the best animators live in California.
That does not imply the best animators only live in California.
The fact is there are more 3DS'ers per Capita in California than anywhere. And
given that there is strong industry here for animation there are quite a few
"best" ones.
The fact is there are "best" 3DS'ers all over the World. But as there are so
many 3DS'ers in California and many many "best" ones it seems foolish to
restrict to a specific geographic area. I'd like to see this psychological
barrier broken down. I have successfully tele-computed cross country and I see
it as the wave of the future. I'd like to see more management take the view
with corporate downsizing etc. that this is a viable alternative. This would
benefit people like you in England, or those in Germany, Africa or wherever, as
well as those of us residing in California. Alot of people just don't want to
give up the control, but its more a question of what type of control. Animators
are a pretty independent bunch anyway. And with ISDN or T2 its not unrealistic
to have global reach. This was my point really. But I couldn't resist taking a
poke at a New Yorker saying local talent only. And very accurately I might add.

>> Yes I know almost ZERO work appears on the nets, therefore the best work
can't be seen. <<
There seems to be a lot of difference of opinion on this but I totally concur
with your observations. I have had many clients who will not allow me to show
work outside that I've done for them. Other people act like this is the
exception not the rule. Not in my experience.
