I think that's why they came up with the GVR-S955. I'm not sure of the exact differences because Sanyo wouldn't upgrade the Dealer units…wanted us to buy another one! Their solution was for me to eat the old unit or hang a new client with the old demo unit……. I had a problem with that. <g> I had a bit of a falling out with them over this, plus the fact they increased the retail on the new units by $500. and Decreased the dealer margins. At the Same time everyone in the World was being introduced to the DPS PAR. Smooooth Marketing move. <g> I basicly had had enough! Besides we were authorized for the DPS Par unit which made the GVR's less attractive. It's still a Great little Deck but I don't care for their way of doing business regarding dealer support and their marketing. Too Bad because they had about a 6 month jump on the industry had they not dropped the ball they could have incorporated their editing package and even maybe worked something out with Digital. Well that didn't happen and now Sanyo is overpriced and outdated. Their new GVR-S955 editing package isn't really very up to date either because that type of hybred system doesn't work well at the S-VHS Level. Now if they'd come up with a Beta-SP Deck……. but Sony already did that with the UVW-1800 and the "new" unit you mentioned. I'm Glad you got your system going. Say Hi to everyone for me. Murph'
