Well, from what I am seeing/reading VR on PC's is quite doable. I am just
getting started with the CDK myself. I am running the demos on a 486/66
with 16M of RAM and an ATI Mach32 board. I can get reasonable motion with
the simple demos.
I am planning on upgrading to a faster system for smoother motion, etc.
For a presentation, you might not need smooth motion, I expect people will
want to move into a room and look for a while, then move on. (Not that
smooth motion would hurt.)
I am investigating low cost video boards to provide texture mapping, and
low cost HMDs as well. I will let you know what I come up with.
