I think the Newletter, database and demo reel are all good ideas but besides educating ourselves we really need to educate the client. Lawyers, I have found on the whole, can be some of the most Low Tech people in the world. They are verbally or literally based and can be intimidated by what we are offering. I actually testified before a Judge who didn't even know what a floppy disk was. I'm talking Bergen County, New Jersey not the backwoods of West Virginny. Maybe it's the East Coast which arrogantly thinks it has a penchant for the latest but I believe I have heard that Tennessee is doing more with reconstruction video then Jersey. My last two videos were from New York but after ben experienced Reconstructionist from the old school) I've been laying low for the past few months devising a marketing strategy of my own. I'm a highly technical person, not a salesman and I have relied on others for marketing. BAD IDEA! Someone contacted me some time ago (Golden?) and talked about standardizing. Fromong. What are your ideas on this?? Frankly I was put off by it but something tells me it might be a logical step. Society of Video Reconstructionists?? Sounds rediculous, why don't you add a field to your questionaire for Possible Title ________. It's exciting work but if we are not undertood or appreciated by the one's who pay the bills we aren't going to get anywhere too fast. If you need any help or further suggestions on you quest, let me know. I'm not worried about competition since it only brings out the best in us all. If we can educate ourselves at the same time we are educating others then everyone will progress. "You never lose what you are willing to give away"
