Stephen,
Sorry your having problems. I hope to turn this forum into something you can
say good things about.
Of course Ani Studio does not play faster under Windows than Ani Pro.
Ani Pro is the fastest thing on the planet. Dos with Pharlap is an extremely
mature place, while Windows is just hitting puberty.
Here's some tips on Playback. If you open up the Ani Studio file browser and
select a file, then hit the playback button, media player is used to play the
animation. It plays back whether flic, 8 bit avi or whatever.
If you load a file into Ani Studio, its turned into a 24 bit lossless avi file.
This file is not intended for playback, but rather for painting and
compositing. When you finish your work, save out a version with another CODEC,
like Indeo 3.2 or Cinepak if you want 24 bit, MicroSoft RLE or FLC if you want
8 bit. Play those with the browser, or Soundlab or the player for fast
playback.
You can also get really fast playback via SMACKER from RAD Software.
They compress flc files down to 1/4 their original size and then its zoooom.
Check it out. They're in Salt Lake City, Utah.
