Lynne, I'm not picking on you BUT, I just have to correct a few things: 1. The SBPRO card and SB-16 use a 40 pin cd rom interface of thier own doing that directly plugs from the cd-rom drive into the sound card. 2. There is only ONE card to plug into the motherboard. 3. The CL sound card will only interface to the Panasonic/Matsushita CR521 series drive. [there are A, B, and C version] 4. IF you want to use another CD-ROM drive other than above you can do so of your own choice[s]. The Mitsumi uses a special interface card. Others use SCSI interfaces. 5. ALL SBPRO Basic, 1.0 and 2.0 and now the SB-16 ASP have thier own cd-ron drive controller interface on the sound card. The SB 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 do not. 6. The only difference between a SBPRO basic and SBPRO is the lack of the Midi hardware/software. There is NO difference between the sound cards. 7. ALL external/internal connections are labeled in the manuals for the sounds cards. 8. I have no idea as to how the EXTERNAL CD-ROM drive kit is cabled. If anyone has this kit or knows anything about it speak up. The folks on Prodigy are correct about the ability to use one card for sound and cd-rom interfacing. This applys to both CL and MV products. That is one of thier primary marketing angles. Lynne, after reading your message I'm having serious doubts about your dealer! Best, Scott
