Some modems have an internal dip-switch to force DTR on. It may be that the setting on his modem has that feature disabled. That would cause the connection to go away when the terminal program is invoked. Paul P.S. The Section Header bug – it really is there. Do you mean you know its there but can't figure it out, or you don't see it at all? What happens is when I collect message headers for marking, the section field is not completely overwritten. Let's say the first message header is from Telecommunications. That looks fine on the screen. If the next message header is from Whap!, instead of the section field saying Whap!, it says Whap!ommunications. In other words, you gotta reset the field with a blank line first, and Whap! doesn't seem to be doing that. Paul
