I at one time tried to run a Bernoulli off of the CLtd SCSI controller but with no luck (this was one of the earliest versions of their controller tho…) the explanation for the failure was that the Bernoulli wanted a superset of SCSI command set to manage the removable media (e.g. signalling for cartridge removed or somesuch). This seemed reasonable at the time but I never pursued it further as the BBox moved on. The current CLtd software v2.01 (along with a hardware update to the controller) seems designed for more generic SCSI (e.g. they appear to be claiming 'plug-n-play' for an SCSI tape drive but I'll certainly check with 'em before I buy one to daisy chain onto my current system. They are also, interestingly, selling a 10 meg removable media system which is not described any further in my docs but which would suggest that they have some way of handling that SCSI superset… COnfirm that old Iomega's were SASI. In general they're much nicer that winchesters with tape combo. Boat-anchors. Just a tad slow and (once) very pricey – now that they've got some competition from other formats the dual 10 meg units can be found for about $1K or so anbd the extra 10 meg cartridges are about $50. -da
