Thanks for the reply! A little background…I have been hacking (good
sense of the word) for about 15 years now. Sadly I haven't done much on
the Amy other than a few DOS utilities because of the lack of
documentation. (I waited for 18 months for ROM Kernal manuals, but gave
up.) Thus I won't be bothering you with silly things like expecting ARP to
run OK under 2.0 kickstart.
My difficulties were under 1.3 following a both-mouse-keys-held-down
boot. ARP and indeed my whole startup-sequence is identical on the A3000
and my A1000, and it worked FINE (or at least didn't show symptoms) when my
A3000 had 2 meg chip and 1 meg fast ram. With 2 meg chip and 4 meg fast
(all static column 80ns) there is trouble!
It may be significant that my machine was also MUCH slower on benchmarks
before the memory upgrade. It now clocks at 7.2 Amy1000's but if ANYTHING
was running at all in the smaller memory setup it clocked at 2.1 to 2.3. I
don't have any explanation for this. The 3 megs of ram in the smaller
config were the same type now installed! Any thoughts on either??? Doug
