I think Louis Markoya said that it made no *sense* to combine maps other
than with altitude. (or something close, anyway)
I remember disagreeing with that when I read it too. I see his point, that
usign a filter will dilute a color map, or using other combinations will
dilute each one's effect. But I can still see a lot of use for it. I
haven't experimented with it yet, though (combining other than with
altitude). Maybe they do something funny to one another, cancelling or
crudding up the image? Don't know. Let me know if you experiement first
and find out, ok?
Re your 'frosted glass' problem. What color is the object that you have
the filter map on? It should be bright white, right? (so that the opaque
sections of the filter map show white). I wouldn't think you would need
any color map in addition….
