Jim, I fully agree…if the software you want/need is not available on a certain platform…then for you, it wouldn't make sense to purchase that particular computer. I often reccomend other brands of computers to folks because of the things they need to do. For instance, my brother designs aircraft interiors for a living, he *must* be able to run AutoCAD. That means for him, the Amiga is out. No matter how good Amiga CAD software may be. As another example, for myself…I need a computer where I can run Oracle. Oracle isn't available for the Amiga…but it is available for MS-DOS. Thus, I have an XT BridgeBoard inside my Amiga. Were the BridgeBoard not available, I would have had to either had 2 computers here…or had an XT. So while I need the capabilities of an XT, I don't think anyone would seriously call an XT a first class computer at this point in time. However, the type/quality of software available doesn't make one computer "better" ('first class') than another computer ('second class'). It mearly means that for a particular application (set of applications) one brand/type of computer may be better suited for a particular user. Don
