Mark, I got a Sony CDU 31 A also, but it was delivered in a package with a MediaVision Sound Commander Pro card. To make a long story short I not happy. The soundcard install diskette was delivered without a certain sound driver I need, and for some reason I can't get either video or sound from the drive, although I do get text and still pix. I called the Sony Peripherals Products Company customer info line (408) 955-4343 and talked to a guy named Ben. He blamed it all on the card manufacturer. They (MediaVision) are sending me the missing sound driver, but the missing video problem is still not addressed. I don't know what to do, and so far my investment is a waste of time and money. I'd never buy a Sony or MediaVision computer product again. Try calling Sony about your problem. I'd be curious to hear if they help, or blow you off.
