Hello, Joel.
Once again, I'm sorry to hear that you, and everyone, are dissatisfied with
Autodesk's policies regarding support. However, all I can do is relate to
everyone how things operate right now.
Primary support for 3D Studio and AAPro, right now, is via the dealer where you
purchased the product. If the dealer can't answer your question, request a
conference call with Autodesk. You get to ask your question and the dealer
gets to learn something new.
Secondary (for a lot of you, Primary) support is available right here on our
forum. CompuServe is one form of direct support that you can take advantage
of. When you put a message up here, it comes right to Product Support where
one of our technicians will address the problem. Here's proof for you since
I've responded to your issue. We use this forum to find out about new
hardware, tip and techniques, how other people use our software, gather ideas
and wishes for upcoming releases, etc.
So, what have I accomplished with this response? Probably not much other than
drag this thread out a little further. I'm not going to be able to please
everyone because I don't set Autodesk's policies.
Yes, our policies may change, but for the time being I follow and uphold the
ones we currently have in place.
Sorry, if that's not what you want to hear,
Bob P. – Supervisor
