I'm not sure what the difference is between the 3401 and the 3401B, but the 'B's made before April I do know something about. Toshiba had a firmware problem where with multiple devices on the bus, if a drive tried to reconnect when another device already had the bus the drive would go to Never, Never land. This isn't a problem when the drive is the only device on the SCSI bus. Also, if you're running DOS it shouldn't be a problem unless you have some special drivers which do async I/O. David
