Richard – Here! Here! I totally agree. CBM does not seem to understand that people don't buy these machines to admire the paint job. They want to run applications. CBM has shown no talent for attracting developers. Given the CDTV experience, I suspect they will have trouble even getting CDTV retread titles. Do they really think they can compete with Ninetendo and Sega? I also agree that CBM would be smarter to develope CD technology for the Amiga rather that trying to force some weak new "standard" on us. Just who do they think is the target customer(I wonder if they ever considered that question). I predict that the only people who will buy these things are people who already own Amigas anyway. But, I suspect that there would be a lot more people with Amigas willing to buy a CD as a general purpose tool than will be willing to buy a new device and wait patiently for software. Of course, developing CD technology for Amigas would mean doing sensible things like making SCSI standard on all machines. I love my Amigas but I've gotten very pesimistic. I think that CBM's engineers and programmers are as good or better than anybody's. However, the guys making the decisions and running the business are buffoons. It is a hopeless situation as long as these clowns are in charge. Just my $.03 worth. – Charles
