Jim, Primestar is a limited partnership entity that provides direct-to-home Satellite service. They are the first service to incorporate a completely digital broadcast distribution system, utilizing General Instrument's DigiCipher (TM) technology. Instead of using an 8 ft. diameter receiving dish, the Primestar dish will only need to be 18" in diameter. Since the signal is digital, most of the problems associated with satellite reception is eliminated. Primestar plans to offer more than 70 channels in 1994, and in excess of 150 channels in 1996.
