Gavin, If, as you say, you need to archive critical information, you need a reliable solution. The problem doesn't seem to be with the recorder, however, if some players will read the discs. It has been established that many players do not adequately handle CD-Rs — and it's not the media or the premastering software or the recorder's fault, it's the player. Your best solution is to invest in good players, and stick with a recording system that you have been able to make readable discs on. Kathy
