Carl, One thing our technicians noticed in the process of testing media was that it is true that different brands/formulae seem to work better with different recorders. It could be a matter of "tuning" the writing laser for particular media, as some manufacturers suggest. Since the tolerances are extremely fine, this is not terribly surprising.
