David, the fact that the Mitsumi drives have problems reading CD-R disks doesn't mean they are not able reading them at all. We discovered that the critical step is the mounting process of the disk. So if the Mitsumi drives reports 'no disk' or something like that, opening and closing the tray several times has proved to work. After the mounting process the Mitsumi drives read CD-R disks just like any other ordinary CD. At least, that is our experience… Sincerely Peter
