Hi Dave, Thanks for the quick response… >> I have seen a lot of discussion here about the PAR (and a lot of wishes for AS to support PAR) Well actually I think the intended purpose of these MCI/AVI drivers is to do just that, which is why I posed the question. This approach is the same one that Adobe Premiere people will have to use with the PAR. And it doesn't seem like it will be much of a burden on the system. I've done the AVI conversion on 150 frame animation and it took just a few seconds… so to me this is definitely the way to go as AS doesn't have nearly the overhead to deal with as it does for TGA's. But I have not been able to play these AVI's back which I think has to do with having the right codec… I as do others need more info on how this is supposed to work… but the approach that DPS has come up with is most interesting and should be monitored closely because it has alot of positive ramifications for working with AS. If you have any other thoughts or knowledge on the MCI/AVI scenario I'd be interested… this is rather a new area even though I've got several programs that can generate AVI, and it seems to be constantly changing as well… the latest AVI drivers create small images for instance, but I'm not sure what that's all about because they always looked small to begin with. <G> John
