"I'm a little confused by this statement. Lantastic is a peer to peer network,
and as such, does not have a centralized server."
1 – you can decide to have some computers to be clients only (and not server)
which saves some conventional memory.
2 – you can set up Lantastic on one machine to be client and server and to
dedicate 90% of the CPU to treat the communications on the Network. You can add
some extra cache buffers (using Lancache), and use the ALONE program which
dedicates the machine as a server. But I don't know if it gives good results,
and there are so much parameters … I have heard anyway that setting up
Lantastic was far more easier that setting up a Novell Network. This might be
because Novell has far more parameters.
3 – I could try to get some help from the Artisoft forum. But on the 3DS side,
what should be the parameters (timeout, etc…) for such big projects (9Mb .PRJ
file and more than 20Mb of mapping files).
Any additional help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
