#Syquist Instal Problem

Jim, I don't know what kind of system you have, but you should be able to have up to four IDE HD's installed (unless it's an older system). On my system, drive 1 should be set to master, #2 is a slave, #3 master, and #4 slave. All these settings are usually set by switches or jumpers on the drives. Also, did you install the Syquest card without disabling the IDE interface already in the computer? Chances are you have to hook all the drives up to the syquest card or hook the syquest up to the IDE controller thats already in the computer. That might be why it won't boot… you can only have one IDE controller installed or they will conflict with each other. Sorry if this is old news, or if the syquest manual states otherwise, but I've never installed one.Beyond talking to syquest tech support and/or your computer manufacturer, you might ask for help in the IBM hardware forum (I think thats what it is) here on CIS.
