Mark, Yes, you are right. In the non-video/graphic area Amiga software is sorely lacking. The operating system is second to none for a desktop machine. After using the Mac and PCs (even under OS/2) they pale by comparison to the Amiga's lean, clean (?), and fast OS. Granted OS/2 handles many things Amigados doesn't, that's more because OS/2 is intended as an OS for a small desktop computer. However, software is a real problem. That's one of the MAJOR reasons I have the Mac emulator. It allows me to use the Amiga to do work, but at the same time I have an Amiga. However, if Apple ever comes out with a multi-tasking operating system which works as well as Amigados, I may jump ship. But I don't think that will happen any time soon.
