I use the X11 software. I also recently had a lot of trouble contacting GfxBase with a question of mine. It turns out that Dale Luck, and several of the original Amiga developers, are working on the 3DO cd-rom hardware (according to Dale, who FINALLY called be back). X11 works fine, but I find that a lot of workstation X-based software assumes that you have more than ~400×640 pixels available. X11 allows you to open huge virtual screens, so the X windows fit on them, but it gets to be a pain to roam around with the mouse.
