Ben,
I read with interest your messages on AmigaDOS crashing methods. I've found a
few of those myself — wish I'd had your list earlier. However, one thing
confuses me.
You mentioned that using Delay() with a small value, say 0 through 2, will
guarantee a crash. Something started tickling the back of my neck, so I
checked some code I wrote about a year ago. Sure enough, I have some loops
where Delay(1L) is used INTENSIVELY (in one instance, a Delay(1L) is issued 80
times repeatedly each time a function is used), and have NEVER had a crash
related to this code. What are you doing that I'm not or vice versa, or what's
waiting out there to bite me? I don't want to release code which is
potentially fatal, but I don't see a straightforward way to do some of the
things I'm doing without the minimal Delay().
Thanks for the information.
Chris Darsch
