Thanks so much Clark for a most informative reply. First: The hardware….. Tape drive: Wangtek Model 5150ES FAO1. Rev 20. Hard disk: Maxtor Model 7120S. (120 Megs) Control Card: GVP. "Impact" A2000-HC/XX (A rather "oldie") Arrangement: Connecting both devices via a flat internal cable from the control card. Not using external connection. As far as I am aware both devices are SCSI and not SCSI-2. QUESTION: Does it matter which device comes first – after leaving the control card? Say… I hook the hard drive to the first connector – after removing its termination resistor(s)…. and then the tape backup to the second, with resistors in place…. OR… Can I hook up the hard drive to the first connector, with resistors in place, and the connect the tape backup to the second – with the resistors removed? Otherwise, does it matter – along the cable – if the terminated unit comes first or second in line, so long as the other unit is un-terminated? Thanks again for your encouragement. Regards, HILARY.
