What I did recently for smoke (exhaust) was based on a theory provided by Gary Yost. First, make 2 rough conical shapes that kinda look like the exhaust funnel. Then, morph them together with a swirly FLIC opacity map. I used GRASP to create 2 or 3 random maps of various middle grey shades. This is done like this… video l mark 2000 color random(18,26) ; selects a random grey from default palette) point 0,0,319,199 loop pgetbuf 1 psave map1.pic,1 exit Do this a couple or 3 time, then save them as GIFs with Pictor. Then, you can load them into animator and make a 2 or 3 or even 4 frame flic. It will look like tv snow. Then, load it as an opacity map. I wish I had it completed so I could prove it works, but understanding the theory should convince you that it will work…
