Obviously, I didn't think your statement was tongue in cheek! And making
such a statement to an outsider – and a writer at that – you were indulging
in an unnecessary risk of being misunderstood, for the sake of a lame joke.
Don't trust them writers. 🙂
If there's one lesson to be learned about operating system upgrades, it's
to break with the past as soon as possible. Or at least, that's a lesson
I've learned. Look at the lame, kludgey attempts to keep MS-DOS 1.x
applications working without disturbance under Windows 3.0. CBM started
out (at least two years ago) saying that 1.4/2.0 would be compatible. Of
course, Murphy's Law fights against them. Meanwhile, developers are jerked
around, users suffer, and the Amiga's reputation drops another notch.
