#Amiga Illiterate
Hi! I need some information on the Amiga… and what it can, and can't
do. I am totally Amiga illiterate. What I do know is that I have a
Commodore 64 from the $595 days! Its been in a box so long, I'm not sure I
could boot it if I dig it out.
* Is the Amiga, in any form, IBM (MS-DOS) compatable… running good ole'
DOS Applications?
* I've heard about a "video toaster" board to utilize the advanced sound
and graphics. What type of compatability does this thing have? Can I use
it with any video format (ie. Hi8, Pro BetaCam SP, or Umatic 3/4")?
* Does anyone here use the Amiga for editing / producing video effects
footage? Whatta ya think?
* Just for kicks, what's the ballpark cost of a fairly "loaded" (BIG HD,
M's o' RAM, HiRez Video) Amiga system? And the video toaster add on???
Thanks in advance for the response. I'm at that critical point of "to buy,
or not to buy…" I've had good luck with response from other CIS forums
