Michael: I wish I could go to a dealer and sit in front of a 3000 and play with 2.0. Unfortunately, the closest dealer WAS 100 miles away in Fairbanks, and he had his distributor status revoked for non-support 2 years before 2.0 or a 3000 was ever announced. Makes it kind of tough for us rural types. The only way I can buy an Amiga is by first buying a plane ticket. I can't even test drive a machine. This is one of my major complaints. As I mentioned in my previous message, I am definitely a big Amiga fan. I just think that the other platforms have caught up and i some cases passed us. They're doing it for less money too. Even under the "Power Up" deal a 3000-25/50 with 1950 monitor will cost you what – $2800? And if you want the 100 meg drive, then you'd better open your wallet real wide, because they want another $950 for that plus 3 megs additional ram. When 2.0 is finally released for the masses, I'm sure I'll be firmly back in the Amiga camp. It just seems rediculous to have released it over a year ago, and claim that the reason that it hasn't been released in ROM is because they were trying to make it as backward compatable as possible. It sounds to me like they haven't been real serious about it. Maybe I'm wrong. All this coupled with the latest rumor mill regarding Mr. Ali is what has disillusioned me. I hope to get my Amiga optimism back RSN. George – via Whap!
