Betty, Thanks. You're right on the ball, as usual. I wanted a bootable disk because with Whap! in df0: and Whapdata in df1: I was getting sick of constantly having to swap the data disk with the Workbench disk. Anyway, after I left the last message I tinkered about a bit and found that the volume label on the Whap disk had a space at the end. That was enough to disable it during the load and give me those error messages. Everything's fine now and I've got no disk swapping to do at all during the session.
