Mark's away today, so I'll answer this one. We have had a few problems with the sudden 'no width' situation. This is due to a messed up fontlist. If the font is CS Times, for example, go to the font manager, select its path, choose Update and Save Default. That should usually fix the problem immediately. Renaming files: no, you can call them anything you want. PageStream doesn't care about the font name. But if you named them after adding them to PageStream's font manager, it will no longer be able to find the font files properly. You must update that path before trying to use one of the fonts in it.
