Ken, I know it leads to a catch 22, but the best way would be to give tests to students who have completed a semester with the instructor and compare results to an acceptable mean. As a full time user and part-time instructor of AutoCAD I tend to use different methods and teach using different approaches than the full time faculty. The 2-year school that I teach at has no common tests to use for comparison and the content of some of the other sections is skewed towards 3D as opposed to the 2D emphasis that I espouse. I guess I'm good at what I teach because I teach what I'm good at. My effectiveness might suffer were I to attempt Calculus instruction, considering I haven't passed Calc II yet<G>. Dennis
