Ken, I applaud the goal of getting ALL AutoCAD instructors, not just those in ATCs, certified. But such universal standardization is doomed from the start. Is there ANY sort of universal standardization for ANY type of instruction in the US? In fact, are there any companies or schools that are truly using/teaching any universal standards? Maybe a few. But imagine the chore to get all companies and schools to teach the same standards, THE SAME WAY! Autodesk will have its hands full just trying to police its own efforts to get all ATC instructors to even take the AC exam, much less become certified. As I stated in a message a few weeks ago, it is a difficult, nay almost impossible task to get all ATCs to adhere to published policy. For example, how many ATCs are members of Compuserve? How many do you see talking here? Unless you are capable of enforcing something, don't make it a rule. Make it voluntary, with enticements. "If you get certified, you will have the benefits of…" Standardization is fine to a point. But blanket standardization must be subject to intense scrutiny. Such as the ill-conceived effort to develop a US standard for education, testing, certification etc. How many states have this now? Shoe
