Jonathan… I understand. If I were in the position where I had dongles coming out of my machine, all chained together, I'd be worried also. Fortunately, I don't have that problem. I guess my stance is, it's NOT really a problem for Amigans right now. It may be in the future (and I have no doubt there are some Amigans who do have this problem right now) but I simply can't understand why someone would pass a product by even if they aren't coming close to having this problem. I've heard people say they'd never let a dongle touch their precious hardware. Again, I can't help but wonder who really loses in that situation. The only tangible that I can see in that scenario is that user X is living without software Y which he/she likely wanted otherwise they would not have considered buying it, and all because of some strange intangible philosophy that prevents one from sticking a dongle into their computer. I can understand the long term goal of not supporting such copy protection schemes by not buying the software, but I really don't think it's worth the effort. Much like trying to write letters to companies like Word Perfect, Commodore and others to get them to treat the Amiga "right", I suspect that the "masses" who don't buy dongled software will be sending a message in code, that will be impossible to understand. That is, people who don't buy dongled software aren't necessarily sending a message that they don't want dongled software, the developer is more likely to read into it that the Amiga platform is not a very profitable one (hey, no one's buying this great software we wrote!) and will turn tail for the PC hills.
