#Microsoft buys SoftImage
I am just curious to know if anyone has any thoughts on the recent purchase of
SOFTIMAGE by Microsoft. Microsoft has recently hired an animation Guru ( His
name escapes me now ) to over see their animation development and the recent
beta of WindowsNT ( Daytona ) includes GL technology licensed from Silicon
Graphics. Can one assume that one day in the near future we will see a
SOFTIMAGE animation package running under WindowsNT on a PC at an affordable
price? Is 3DS looking at this? I also heard that 3DS is working with Silicon
Graphics on some projects. I would be very interested in your comments.
