See Alan's message on smoothing. If this is a lofted object, it's probably a simply matter of turning off smoothing (either Length, Width, or both) in the Object Lofting Controls dialog box. See page 6-98 of the Reference Manual. For that matter, take a good look through pages 6-95 to the end of chapter 6. The Objects/Make command is the last in the command column, so it's described at the end of the chapter — but it contains the controls that ultimately determine how your lofted object will look. Here's a case where the end of a chapter is more important than the earlier parts. – Jack
