There is an Earth map photographed from spce by NASA, very large in size (over
100 MB) someone worked on this map for a long time pixel by pixel, and at that
size you will be able to get as close as 1 mile to the earth and will still
see a lot of true detaile on earth. The cost??? I am not sure. You can contact
Earth Imaging in Santa Monica, CA. and they will be able to help you. I have a
2MB version of the same file. I belive you can purchase different size and
resolutions from them. If you are ready to purchase the most accurate map of
planet Earth ( with a high price ) let me know and I can find a lot more detail
for you.
