Joe, >> this particular person was convinced that using ClarisCAD on a Mac gave him an advantage over his competition << Joe…Eeeeezzy for me to say I know but….this company isn't ready for your survices. Until this guy faces the fact that his "former" CAD Company just Dumped out on him you haven't got anything to talk to him about. How well do you know this person? If he/she's never met you before then it's gonna be a "No Sale" You'd have to extablish some kind of common ground to make any kind of argument with this Guy/Gal. The fact that the person is using MAC's should tell you something. I've got a few "MAC" user freinds and they are _not_ what I would call Computer Literate! That doesn't mean that they _Have_ to be….It just tells me a couple of things in general. A: They usually could care less about he hardware as long as the Job Gets Done. B: They don't like _Any_ Learning Curves on AnyBodies Software. C: They Just Luuuuuuvvvvee those cute little MAC's. They may not even know there is a MAC Version of AutoCAD! Wouldn't that be nice….sigh….tooo easy. On the other hand they may just be really cheap or unstable financially…not a good sign in a potential new employer! If a Company can't invest in their Future….They Don't Have One!!! _You_ would be part of that Investment. Another Point if he enjoys any "advantage" over their competition they've just lost it … whether they realize it or not. >> He claimed he could produce drawings several times faster.<< Than What? Using Pen & Ink! All CAD in General is faster than Non-CAD. Faster than AutoCAD….Bullshit! It depends on the Operator and what he's doing…then there's those great add-on programs that generally don't even exist for other CAD Programs….He could even Program or Pay you to write LISP Routines that would match his Companies way of Drawing and totally Customize and "Speed Up" his companies operations many times. I don't buy this argument. >> Who was I to argue << You were the "AutoCAD experienced person trying to sell yourself and AutoCAD by linking both your futures…that's who the hell you are! I really get steamed when people say this kind of crap. It's like saying "Who am I to have an Opinion?" You were there to sell yourself and your capabilities…this was the perfect time to prove you beleived what you were saying. If the guy was "testing" your resolve this would have been a perfect way to do it <g>. If He really had a pair….<g>…He'd have to hire you and trade up one of his copies of Claris to AutoCAD… at least on a temporary basis…just to … "see your cards". One of my "best" accounts was so upset with me when we first sat down to "talk" that the guy almost wanted "to take me Outside" for challenging his "opinion"…once he realized it wasn't personal and I really beleived I could do what I said I could..he gave me a shot..sure it was tense the first couple of weeks but a couple of months later we were "Buddies"….JMC
