James: On keeping with the theme of " Why I have to know all the CAD programs and why the Software companies in order to protect their dealers make it impossible to learn without buying": A recent quote from an advertisement in today's paper: "Candidate will have extensive knowledge with Mini-CAD." This is what I'm talking about when I say that the drafting profession has become fragmented. Before the introduction of CAD systems this job would have been open to anyone with drafting experience. How does a person prepare for this environment? By learning as many CAD programs as possible, thats how. Alas, learning is not possible without Big Bucks. So far I have not heard a solution. Are you any good at problem solving, or do you solve problems by insisting that they don't exist? J.F.
