Tom, Your errors could have started from several sources: 1. Since you just started going online, your system may have a virus. 2. One of your CIA (8520) chips may be faulty and the increased activity introduced by the modem may be triggering this problem. 3. Depending on the age of the drive, it may be starting to fail. 4. If an error ocurred during an download, your drive may have been invalidated. This would explain the drive access (the operating system is trying to revalidate the drive). It could also be that the Internet software package is updating files during the session. If the system is working properly at this time, my recommendation is to leave it alone. If it fails again, then reformat the drive and start from scratch, to eliminate any virus or software problem. One word of caution concering ExpertPrep. It prepares drives slightly different than the older FastPrep program and cannot be used interchangeably. If you start using ExpertPrep, don't use FastPrep again. GVP TECH
