The TBC will provide you with a perfectly stable and synced image that
will need little post-processing if any unless your source video really
sucks :> If you get a VTV-2000 you don't need a TBC to capture and edit
your animations or video, but it helps the quality of the incoming signal,
specially if you are using a consumer grade camcorder. I don't personally
use a TBC at home and since I use a consumer camcorder I have to further
clean the image if I want an excellent output.
