The mapping coords location does not translate w/ the object. Okay, I didn't
say that very well. For example, in center of the top viewport, make a cube.
Set up some type of mapping coord for it, and apply. Now move the mapping icon
to the lower left corner of the viewport (but don't reapply it — we're just
moving it so that you can see it go back). Now, move the cube to upper right
corner. Now, use Surface/Mapping/Acquire. You'll see that the mapping icon is
back near the center of the viewport, where the cube originally was.
So, if the bird-body was moved after the mapping coords were applied, and you
re-acquire and apply them, you'd get a different effect, as you've seen.
